Chris Wood - Professional Golfer

Chris joined the professional ranks after he burst on to the scene finishing in joint fifth position in the 2008 Open Championship and winning the Amateur’s Silver Medal. In his final round at Birkdale, which was with Ian Poulter, Wood shrugged off any nerves after the first tee. He looked at the leaderboards and enjoyed every minute of the last lap of what he would later describe as “the best week of my life”. In 2009 Chris finished in a tie for 3rd place at the 138th Open Championship at Turnberry, missing out on a chance for the title by just one shot. This finish gains Chris a place in The Masters Tournament at Augusta in 2010. After returning to fitness and form in 2012, Chris claimed his maiden professional victory at Suwan Golf and Country Club when he won the Thailand Open by two shots with a magnificent score of 23 under par. Chris started his 2013 campaign in style, sealing his maiden European Tour title at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, which took place at Doha Golf Club, after making a sensational eagle at the 18th to win by one shot on 18 under par. In 2015 Chris finished fourth at Wentworth Club, shortly before winning his second European Tour event, the Lyoness Open powered by Greenfinity in Austria. That was the perfect way to banish the frustrations of the previous 12 months, having broken a bone in his hand playing tennis is October 2014. Chris Wood has landed the biggest title of his career this year, 2016, by winning the BMW PGA Championship. Chris scored three under par 69 in the final round gave him a one-stroke victory over Swede Rikard Karlberg in second place and Danny Willett in third. Chris became an ambassador for Bioflow Sport in 2011.
